Where Are They Now? — Stacey Hill (Loyd)

Hello fellow Bulldogs! It has been great to re-connect to PHS classmates after 20+ years.

I am one of those who left PHS and graduated somewhere else. Thank you for looking for us as well!! I always felt that PHS was my high school. I left Provo High after my Sophomore year in 1986. My dad was transferred to Orlando, FL and off we went. We actually left on my 16th birthday and I had to go take my driving test for my license in a packed station wagon - embarrassing! I went from Provo where I was born and raised to Winter Park High School in Orlando, FL where I graduated with a class of over 800! Needless to say I was in culture shock. Coincidentally, I ended up running into Shirley Baldwin (Johansen) whose family had just moved to FL as well. We had many pity parties of missing home :) I did adjust and have been in Florida ever since.

After high school, I came back to Provo for a year where I managed Sparks, Roman Gardens, Colonial and Park Place apartment complexes (are they still there??) while I took classes at UVSC. I ran into a few of you during that year (Vicki - lots of good memories). When I went back home for the summer, I met my future husband Brian Loyd. We were married in 1990 and stayed in Florida (much to my parents relief). We both worked and finished school while starting a family. The degree took a little longer that way and in 2003, I finally graduated with a bachelors in Organizational Management from Warner Southern College. I don't want this to sound like a resume to I'll keep it short. I work for a large grocery store chain here in the Southeast called Publix Super Markets since 1990 and am a Human Resource Manager for their Corporate Offices in Lakeland, Florida. In my job I have had the opportunity to travel all over the Southeast but haven't been out West again in a long time. My husband Brian is a Web Manager by profession and a musician/guitarist at heart. You can check out some of his work at www.myspace.com/bloyd (beware, it is experimental heavy metal, not for the faint of heart :)

We have three beautiful girls, Amber 15, (help does anyone know how to raise teenage girls :), Brandi 11, and our happy surprise child Alyssa 2. Florida has a great magnet school program and the two older girls both attend school of the arts as dancers. It just doesn't seem possible that we already have a child in highschool, we're not that old already are we? Our lives typically start at 4:45 am, and we run from early morning seminary, to schools, to work, to dance rehearsals, etc. Our lives are very full. Lakeland is located right in between Tampa and Orlando, we enjoy the sunshine, beaches and many things to do. I really miss seasons and mountains so most of our vacations are to Tennessee and North Carolina to take in mountains, hiking, water sports, and seasons. If any of you come to Florida, look us up!

Enjoy the pictures below. We also have a family blog that Amber keeps up for us when she can loydland.blogspot.com, or you can email me at Bloyd1@tampabay.rr.com.

Stacey,

Florida? You had made promises to me in the fifth grade. It’s great to see you. Still Beautiful. I’m glad it turned out right for you. I have wonderful memories. It’s fun to get caught up. I told my sister hi for you. She was happy to hear you did so well. Keep smiling.

Hey Stace! I just realized that you posted! reading your post brought back alot of memories of locking ourselves in the bathroom and crying for hours over missing PHS! I cant believe its been 22 years since we left there! It was so nice to have a dear friend to go through all of that with! I guess we should have been grateful for our season passes to Disney World and all the fun parties with my cousins! If I would have known that coming back would have been like I never left I would have enjoyed the sunshine and beaches a little more! Alot of people at the reunion asked about you! I'm enjoying having Justin and Grandma Edda down the street! You guys need to come visit that sweet little neice of yours! I love you!

Hello Stacey,

Sorry it took me so long to return my message to you. Besides my 3 bigger boys I also have a 1 year old girl and another boy on the way. I am due Nov. 4. We are all very excited about another baby.

Thanks for saying all those nice things. I have to say I was very sad when your family moved to Florida. I really enjoyed being around you. You always had a smile for everyone. I don't think you disliked anyone or you just don't know how. Thanks for all of your kindness and love.
If we do a 25 year reunion I really hope you will be able to come and your family. I would love to meet them all. Your have beautiful girls.

Love ya,
Love Sheryl Hale Pryor,
