Where Are They Now? — Roxanne Park

Hello fellow Bulldogs! It's so nice to read updates about everyone and I want to thank the committee for doing such a great job on this reunion. It seems that when I mention my twenty year reunion that many people didn't have good memories of their high school years. I am grateful that I have such fond memories of Provo High.

After graduation I went to BYU. After searching I found a career path that I never thought I would enter and love. I teach school. Imagine that? I just can't get away from school :) I teach 9th grade Geography in West Valley. I am also the cheerleading advisor to the junior high cheerleaders, again, I just can't get away from my former school activities :) Although my job can be quite stressful at times I love it. I especially love the summers and I take full advantage of not working. I like to golf, hike, softball, hang out with my nieces and sleep in.

Although I have been close to getting married a couple of times, I have remained single. My friends think I should write a memoir of my dating since it can be quite comical at times whereas my cheerleaders frantically are searching to find me a soul mate. I am also the only child in my family that is single and I think my parents love having the token single child since they can always count on me to be there for the holidays. For me it's all good, I have no complaints unless you are talking about my date last week who had clearly forgotten the term of 'shower' and was missing a front tooth. Actually I am just kidding about the date thing but I have had some that should have been a Seinfeld episode.

Hope to see you all soon!

Roxanne - It was so great to see you at dinner. You haven't changed a bit! And I can see how lucky your cheerleaders are to have you, as evidenced by you worrying about them even as we were having dinner. I am sure that you are an awesome teacher! And as far as the marriage thing, sometimes it's highly overrated, trust me ;) See you at the reunion!

Roxanne you haven't changed a bit from your pictures! I bet you are a great teacher and coach. You were always so friendly and had a smile for everyone. I also agree with Melinda that the marriage thing can be very overrated!

ROX! I had to do a double take when I saw your picture. For a minute, I couldn't decide whether it was a "Then" or a "Now"--I decided it was a "Now", since you were minus the poofy bangs that we all wore (some higher than others!) You look, and sound, awesome!

It would take volumes to comment on all of the memories I have with you, my BFF from Grandview! We were the kickball (accent on the KICK) queens of all time! We could play intellivision better than anyone, and I can't understand why kids today don't spend HOURS playing with their Little People Sets--your LP castle was still the coolest--and I always dreamed of having an "A" frame house, because of you!! And what about night games, and our bike posse!! You totally made my childhood! Good times! In a nutshell, you ROX my SOX!! Love ya!

Roxanne, I have to second what a previous poster said about your photo. Is that your senior yearbook photo and you were one of the few students with a timeless sense of style in 1988, or is that a recent photo?

Roxanne, good to see you again. I am sorry I could not remember your name at the Kamas Food Town (small world indeed) but it was so out of place to see you there.I think I called you Kendra maybe as in Kendra Wolf, who knows?
anyway it was good to see a familiar face from the olden days (as my kids call it) like we were pioneers or something. you looked great. hope to see you at the reunion. I will remember your name.

Roxanne-

It was so good spending time with you in April. You are too darling and I love how you love to be a teacher. You are probably mistaken as one of your students many times.

Your post was cute. I will miss seeing you at the reunion. Vicki (Thompson) O'Brien

Roxanne, I had heard that at one point you taught school at Carl Sandburg Elementary here in West Valley. My two sons are currently students there in the 3rd and 4th grade. Sometimes feels like a really small world. It's great to so you doing so well.

Roxanne! How the heck are you? It's great to find out your doing so well. I have great memories, like Mindy, starting way back at Grandview Elementary. Remember when we were on the same little league team? Good times! Hope to see you at the picnic.

Roxanne,
I miss our impromptu visits at church now that I'm not in your parent's ward. You seem to be taking advantage of our unattached state. Good for you. Looking forward to seeing you!

It's great to hear you are doing so well. You opened my eyes in 5th grade that girls could play kick ball with the best of them. See you at the reunion.

Roxanne,
Or is it Elaine (Seinfeld)? You were one of my first dates after my mission. Sorry about that. I don't remember much other than I felt bad because getting back into the dating thing was awkward for me and I'm sure it was painful for you. Give me credit, though, for having the guts to ask you out! I regretted I never did in high school. Anyway, thanks for putting up with it all. I hope I can make your comical dating memoirs.
Good to hear you are doing so well. The education system is lucky to have such a fun, talented, and dedicated teacher.

Roxanne,

You look the same!! I don't know if you'll remember me or not but I have to say I can never hear Roxanne by the Police without thinking of you. I seem to recall you and PJ (what happened to her)going back and forth with Roxanne and Ebony and Ivory :)

Wish I could come to the reunion, I will miss talking to you.
