Where Are They Now? — Kelly (Carter) and Rod Hair

Well I thought Kelly should write this, and she thought I should, so here we are now two days before the reunion and we’ll just see if this actually makes it in.

Wow, 20 years! It’s been fun to read up on everyone.

After high school I went to Snow College for a semester on an automotive scholarship before serving a mission to Montreal, Canada. I then went to BYU for a semester and then to UVSC for a semester. That was enough school for me. I have been working for the last 13 years at Barber Brothers Motor Co. in Spanish Fork as the Chevrolet Service Manager. I enjoy my job and value the relationships I’ve developed with my loyal customers.

After high school Kelly took a job in New York as a nanny for a year and after New York she went on to UVSC where she earned her associates degree. She was working as a legal secretary when we started dating. We had never associated during high school so when we began dating, it was interesting to see how much we had in common. We were actually set up on a date after she came in to Pep Boys Service dept where I was working as assistant service manager. One of my technicians was her brother in law and he got us to go out on a double date. We dated for 3 straight weeks, got engaged, and were married 6 weeks later. I haven’t looked back. We were married November 13, 1992 in the Manti Temple. We have lived in Spanish Fork ever since and really like it here. Since we didn’t date very long, we told our parents we would wait 2 years before having kids. Well Kasey was born on our second anniversary (how’s that for perfect timing?). We have two beautiful kids; Kasey 13 & Kody 11.

We love spending time together as a family. We do a lot of camping & 4-wheeling. We are at the Sand Dunes Spring & Fall and otherwise we can be found in the mountains. Kasey is involved in tennis and is learning the bass guitar. She is very academic. Kody is into diving and very involved in Boy Scouts. He is very social and is also a good student.

We hang out with Glenn Snow and his family quite a bit. He actually ended up marrying Kelly’s sister Andrea (PHS alumni ’95) seven years ago so now we are brothers-in-law!

Well, due to prior obligations, we won’t be joining you at the reunion, but we have enjoyed reading all of the blogs and wish all of you the best. We would love to hear from you. rkhair@sfcn.org
