Where Are They Now? — David Strunk

Well I'm not really sure where to start, but after graduation I went to BYU for 2 semesters. I then went on a mission to Atlanta, Georgia. Nate Treewartha was there with me, so at least I got to see a familiar face now and again. After returning I went back to BYU. Long story short, I screwed around and changed majors a couple of times. I ended up graduating in Physical Education with my secondary education teaching degree.
Along the way I met a fantastic woman whom I conned into marrying me. When they talk about marrying up, I went way up!! Her name is Tammy and she is from Ann Arbor, Michigan. We were married in May of 97. She is a school teacher in Mapleton. She has actually taught some kids of fellow Bulldogs. Along the way we have been blessed with 3 wonderful kids. Nicklaus is 9, and just like me which drives his mother crazy. He loves any sport that includes a ball. He tags along with me on a lot of my hunting adventures. Ask Matt Clark about the bear hunt with our sons last year if you see him sometime. Samantha is 7 and is an absolute angel. She definately has her dad wrapped around her little finger. She loves gymnastics and arts and crafts. I would not trade her for anything. Jake is 2 and our 'baby'. He is an absolute riot now that he can carry on a conversation. I'm amazed how fast kids grow up. It seems not too long ago we were all bullet proof and handsome. And somehow between Provo High and BYU I must have missed the classes on parenting. I couldn't find the manual anywhere. I just hope I don't screw up too bad.
As for me, I still live here in Provo. We built a new house on Grandview hill about 2 years ago. I have been involved in the golf industry for the past 10+ years. It is something that I really love. I get to see a lot of friends at the course. It feels like cheating when I get paid to 'hang' out with friends. I still manage to squeeze in quite a few rounds with some fellow Bulldogs. I still spend a lot of time hunting and fishing as well. Some of my greatest adventures have been with guys like Greg Stott, Matt Clark and bulldogs from different years.
I still act like a screw off. I guess the only thing that has changed is that I'm balder, a step or two slower and I have kids. Never thought that would happen. I'm looking forward to seeing and catching up with friends that I have not seen in years. Until then, Have a great day.

That's what they called you on our little league team. Your dad was the coach, I was the worst player in history (I was an automatic out whenever I was up), and you were the best kid on the team... consequently I have 2 championship trophies that you earned for me- thanks for helping me save face with my sons! (And thanks for never yelling at me or beating the tar out me for striking out all but once in the 2 years we played together!) I'm sure your boys will be just like you.

Great to hear from you. You look the same to me and don't worry about the hair ( I can relate). No use spending perfectly good hormones on growing hair right?
See you at the reunion!
It's about time you did your blog. I really enjoyed reading it.
I do remember you loving golf in high school. What a great blessing that you get to make money at something you love.
Also thanks for taking me to homecoming. You were a lot of fun to be around.
Hope to see you at the reunion.
Take care.

PS Beautiful family! Way to marry up!! ;)
Great pix. It is great that you landed a job you love. Your family looks just like you except they are better looking, which is where your wife's genetics kicked in. ;)
Look forward to seeing you at the reunion.

It was so funny running into you in Green River last year on my way back from mt. biking in Moab (you were coming back from bear hunting). Have to tell you that bear skull (eyes still in it) was about the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. It'll be fun to see you at the reunion.
It is great to see and read about you and your family.
Wish I could be there to see everyone.
Do you remember me?

I am glad you get the great joy of kids and soul mate. Many don't get kids, what a gut wrenching tragedy, my life would mean nothing without my babies.
See ya at the reunion.

Signed up for the golf tourney at the last second and was so glad I went. We should make that an annual thing--there are plenty of us around--we'll call it the mini-reunion.
