Where Are They Now? — Brian Johnson
Well, where to begin? First, I need to brush up on my typing skills. Five words a minute is what I call blazing fast but not according to my wife.
Six short months passed by after graduation and I found myself starting a mission to Argentina, Cordoba. Upon returning home I started my studies at Utah Valley Community College and became involved with the LDSSA. I was the activities committee director for a year and I was pretty sure that being in charge of all those dances, meeting so many lovely young women, that I'd come out of there with a wife. Well I met my future bride, but it wasn't at the Institute. I was set up on a blind date by a guy from work and I couldn't have been happier. We met in June of 1993 and married in October of 1993. I know what your thinking, pretty darn fast, but I didn't want to screw anything up and let her get away. Getting married changed a lot of things for me. I wasn't too sure about my college and career choices so I took a break from school and got a job framing houses. In 1995 I finally finished at UVCC with a degree in drafting but continued to work in the construction industry.
So if I've done everything correctly there is a picture of my awesome family at the top. I was never quite sure how many kids we wanted to have, so we started our family when our oldest boy Kolby was born in 1997. About twenty months later Tanner was born and I still can't believe it when I look at him that he's a red head. When he was born the first words out of my mouth in the delivery room were, "You're not going to believe this honey, but he has red hair!" It was a shock because we're not sure whose family member has a red head. It's such a joy and a wonder to see two boys with two completely different personalities. Kolby is very coordinated and a very good basketball player, and he's so smart. I'm continually impressed with his high marks in school. Tanner is definitely a fiery one but sometimes he throws his mom and I for a loop because he's also so laid back. They're both in cub scouts and my oldest son and I recently went on a Webelos overnight er. Kolby had a blast sleeping in his itty bitty tent and shooting bows and arrows and b.b. guns but his old man couldn't wait to get home. I'm finding that as I get older more and more people think that I'm not fun and I've even been told I'm grumpy. Where did the time go?
I've been building homes and businesses all over Salt Lake, Summit, and Utah county for about 14 years now, and for the past two years I've been a superintendent for a construction company in Park City. In this business I've been able to keep up on my Spanish skills and its fun to continue learning more and more about different Hispanic cultures.
My wife and I lived in Provo for the first six months of our marriage and then we found ourselves in an apartment in Midvale. Two and a half years later we built a home in West Valley and we've been there ever since. My boys attend the same grade school as their mother did and we have a wonderful neighborhood and community out here. Twenty years have passed and there are times when I feel real young and full of energy and then there are times when some dumb kid spouts off about how my 80's music is old and crappy just like me. Got to go now and take care of my honey-do list, hope to see everybody at the reunion.

Great to see that you are still alive. I enjoyed reading about your life. I would think you would enjoy how everything is going in your life because you were that way in high school.
Glad that you are coming to the reunion. See you there.
I also have escaped Utah Valley and am living in Murray. We love it here! The family is just close enough, and just far enough. It is lovely!
I remember you saving me in accounting! I am still not very good with numbers!
