Where Are They Now? — Jenny Gordon (McEntire)
The long-awaited Jenny Gordon McEntire update.
I graduated from BYU in psychology where I met and married Ari McEntire. Some of you might remember him from the Oak Hills 8th Ward. Ari is a mechanical engineer and we moved to Chicago for a summer intern with Motorola while he finished his masters. Who knew that three months would extend to 14 years! Ari was hired by Motorola and worked for them until two years ago when they sold his division (Automotive Electronics) to US Continental Automotive. It was a good move and he really enjoys his job.

We live about 30 miles outside Chicago in the NW suburbs. It's a beautiful area, lots of trees, retention ponds, historic homes. We're also just 8 miles from the Chicago Temple (which is not actually in Chicago) and I worked there for about 4 years. The city is awesome and I love to visit. I wish we went there more. On a really good day we can see the Sears Tower. It's pretty cool. For more information, please watch "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." That's pretty much me.
We make it to Utah about once a year during the summer and visit with both our families. It's good to see everyone, but it gets a little crazy trying to juggle all the schedules. I always see Wendi, Tess, Traci, Amy and Candice. We have our girls' night. We are pros at the long distance car trips. It takes us about 22 hours to get to Provo. Every year I say it's the last time, but we keep going back.
We have two sons: Trevor (16) and Jason (13). They are a lot of fun--very creative and funny. I love being the mom of boys. We love camping and rock climbing. We catch bugs, bring home stray wildlife and even have two snakes. We're hoping they have babies again this year (the snakes, not my boys). We also have a 3-year-old mini schnauzer named Piper. He is truly the love of my life and is my parents' favorite grandchild.

As I mentioned, I worked at the Chicago Temple. It was a great experience. I worked in the office processing family file names for people to do temple work. I also interviewed and set-up appointments for people coming to be married, sealed, etc. I met some great people and gained an appreciation for all the work that goes into the smooth running of the temple. I know where the secret rooms are and where they hide the candy.
Now I work in the Public Information Office of the Arlington Heights Memorial Library. We do all the publicity for the library including the newsletter, web calendar, posters and program advertisements. It's the perfect job. I work about 12 hours a week, it's a mile from my house (so I walk most of the time), I work with creative and hysterical people, and I've continued developing many geeky computer skills. Best perk: no late fines!
We spend the rest of our time involved at church, playing with our dog, and fixing our house. I love to organize, play the piano and make jewelry. I'm also in treatment for my shoe and purse addiction. Ari and I have also gotten involved in running (he ran cross-country in high school for Bingham High) and are preparing for a triathlon in May. This will be my second and Ari's fourth. Maybe we'll see some of you at the Provo Triathlon! It's a lot of fun, even though I'm slow.

Like many of you, high school holds many fond memories and wonderful friendships. I've enjoyed getting in touch with some of you as this reunion has unfolded. Thank you for helping me become the person I am today--I wouldn't want to do it over again for the world!

- As an adult, John Hughes movies have lost their appeal. I watched the "Breakfast Club" not too long ago and all I could think was, "What a bunch of whiny kids." I wanted to smack them. I guess I'm an old fart.
- Watch "Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion." Be prepared to compare and contrast to our own reunion. Support with evidence from the film.

If you want to run the Marine Corps Marathon in the Fall (or any Fall), you and hubby (and boys) are welcome to crash at our pad. I'm looking forward to seeing you this summer!
I remember when you and Ari announced you were getting married, but lost track of you until now. But from the snappies I see that you get together with the girl gang from time to time. That's a great bunch.
The rappelling pic is choice.
Good life experiences. You look great, your boys (all three) are darling (would your husband be offended by that adjective?), and you seem to be doing interesting things. I worked in the temple too, before Brandt was born. Such a great place to be regularly.

I love the picture of you rock climbing. For some reason I can't image you having done that in HS. Probably because you always looked so put together. Thanks for posting.
Best,
Lois Decker (Brown)
I'm sorry we didn't have a chance to visit more last night. You look fantastic! Keep in touch. nursenoel@msn.com
