Where Are They Now? — Carma Guercio (Heimuli)
Along with all of you, I am amazed that twenty years has passed already. It seems like just yesterday we were wandering the halls of PHS. However, since I have almost-high school age children of my own, I am starting to realize that I am getting old. It's nice to know that all of you are along for the same ride.
As you may remember, I finished high school halfway through our senior year and moved to Denver where I worked as a nanny and went to school for three years. In 1990, I moved to New York where I worked as a nanny on Long Island. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in New York and it is there that I met and married my husband, Kepi Heimuli (a second cousin to our friend Hema although the two of them never met until they were at BYU).
In 1994, we decided it was time to move back to Utah, get jobs, finish school, and start a family (meaning grow up). We have four children: Canyen (12), Karanda (almost 11), Kenji (8), and Kyali (6). They are busy, smart, funny, and (as most of you moms know) a full-time job and I love it! We live in Payson (yes that same Payson that we always made fun of, the OTHER PHS, the place we thought was at the end of the earth) and now we wouldn't choose to live anywhere else. We moved here eight years ago and have loved watching the city grow and being involved in the Church, community, school, PTA, and our neighborhood here. We love Payson.
Kepi works for Zions Bank as their IT Manager and he has the opportunity to travel to all Zions Bank branches and their out-of-state affiliates. The kids and I often tag-a-long on his trips and we love to hang out especially in St George (where the hotel staff know us all by name) and also Moab while he's there working. We have also been able to go with him to Idaho and California. We love to travel as a family and have been able to take our children back to New York to see where I worked and Kepi was raised and down to Washington, DC to see the sights and to the DC Temple where we were married. We are hoping to go to Hawaii again this summer for the kids to visit their cousins (hopefully the airlines will cooperate and stay in business until we can get there and back)! This is starting to sound like a Christmas card so I will sign off for now. I have enjoyed reading what you have all been up to and look forward to catching up some more at the reunion in June. It was fun to read your post, since we only got to chat for a few minutes when I did get to see you here at work!
See you at the reunion!
