Where Are They Now? — Scott Miller

I’m the guy that half the time everyone thought I was Andy Horton. Sometimes that worked to my advantage, other times not so much.

After graduation, and after returning from a mission in St. Louis, MO, I attended BYU. This was pretty much PHS Part 2 because of all the familiar faces on campus. After graduation I went to work for a company called Tahitian Noni International. In 2000, I finished up my Master’s at BYU.

Because of my incredible looks and suave with the female gender, I got a late start on the marriage thing. At 29, I married a dang hot Kansas girl and we have two handsome and very active boys—ages 2 and 6 (they got mom’s looks, obviously). We live in American Fork. I now work for a start-up company called, Ocean Grown International. My job is truly a “dream come true” experience because of where I get to spend much of my time: “Honey, I’m going on a ‘research’ trip—I’ll be in Hawaii for the next few weeks.”

Though I don’t see them often enough, I still consider Lance Garvin, Andy Horton, Jason Forest, and Clark Bayles my great friends. I have to say, most of the good things I enjoy in life are a direct result of their friendship, support and example to me both in high school and after. I can only hope that my boys have friends like this. I look forward to seeing you all at the reunion.

Andy - Its great to hear from you again. You haven't changed a bit. I always remember during football practice we would call you "Utah Valley regional med center" - due to that huge brace you wore. Hey in my yearbook you wrote you were gonna call me and we would hang out back in the summer of 88. What happened Bro.? Looks like your doing great- congrats man. See you in June.

If it wasn't for Scott, Andy, and Lance (the cool ones) I would have never made it through PHS. it was a hard move. but these 3 were always there for me in the thick and thin. they were "cool guys" and fashionably conscious who still accepted me 501's, t-shirt, mullet and all. and they were the first non family I called when my wife died. you guys are the best. i love you man. all of you. oh and scott I still feel bad about that last knee surgery. should have led you more.

Scott, I thought I was one of your great friends. But I forgive you since I never attended PHS1, as you call it. Missed you at PHS1.5 (aka Snow), but we had some great times at PHS2, though. Intramural football elite 8 - the Franchise rocked! Take care buddy.

Scott,
That was very kind of you to say that about me, it just goes to say that you must not have kissed anyone on the cheek before. Really it will be great to see you again and to meet your awesome wife. You, Lance, Clark and Andy were always so kind to me. A lot of guys thought I was weird or something. Thanks for always being so nice.

Scott,

Man, we never talk. We all need to get together- let's go crash Clark's home in Kamas. Actually, I need to see your new home.

Scott, I've been pondering for a month how to tell you thanks for your kind words and just dont know quite what to say, but thank you. You said I was one of the nicest people at PHS and all I could think of was what a brat I had been! Thank you for finding a kind word and thinking of me that way. It's good to remember back when and know someone thought good things. It will be great to see you. Jill

Scott-
You look so happy in your picture and your family is darling.

I didn't know you served your mission in St. Louis. Rusty is from there, and his mom and all three of his sisters live there now. We go there about 4-5 times a year (it's only about 4-5 hours from here). It's great to take kids there because everything is free--Zoo, Science Center, museums, etc. If you ever take your family there let us know. We may be there at the same time.

You, Lance and Andy were such great friends to me and my friends. So many of my high school memories have you guys in them. It was really good to hear from you. Vicki Thompson (O'Brien)

Marci & I are in touch - we stay with them when we visit Utah & celebrate our birthdays together at Fish Lake. (she married one of my childhood friends from Arkansas) She says to say hi. Where were you in Costa Rica for that month? Great place.
