Slade went to the U with me and his dorm was next door to my dorm. Whenever I was feeling homesick, I'd go knock on Slade's door. Within minutes I was laughing. I miss you, Slade!

Slade and I were partners on the debate team. Not only was debating as his partner fun, but having him as my my partner was learned the art of debate was great. He had a great mind for synthesizing arguments and could masterfully see the strengths and weakness of both sides of every issue. And everything he did was done with such a positive attitude and a smile. I saw those skills put to good use in all the classes that I had with him. Those were very enviable skills that I wanted to assimilate.

He was a great friend.

I don't remember what started it, but one day we got Slade laughing so hard that he could not breathe. His face turned red and he started to snort trying to get some air to his lungs. It went on for about 50 to 60 seconds. Of course his laugh was so contagious, that we all started laughing almost as hard as he did. That is how I remember Slade, always happy, always a friend.

Slade and I went out several times in high school, sharing our love of Israel and proudly displaying the Star of David. Slade always made me laugh. For a Valentine's dance, we had dinner at Slade's house, eating moose steak from a moose he had shot. When I looked up from my plate, guess who was looking back? You know it ... the moose head was mounted on the wall!

I'll never forget going to the movies with Slade and seeing "Beaches". The boy who never quit smiling was diminished to tears and was sobbing so hard for so long we finally pushed him up the aisle so everyone would stop staring at us! I never could keep a straight face when I heard the song Wind Beneath My Wings again! You always had a blast when you were with Slade!

I have so many good memories of Slade. He really was so happy and fun. Although high school was fun, we were even better friends after college. I still talk to his parents now and then, and they're still great of course. Boy, is he missed.

Another K-12 classmate. Wow... there has been a lot from my childhood who has passed on. The class pictures of Slade would make everyone laugh! Some of him with his mouth wide open and smiling. He was full of joy and happiness. I could send them to someone to scan or do whatever with, I have no way of doing it myself from here. But if someone is interested in them, I can get them to you.

Slade and I lived across the street from eachother from the time we were about 2 or 3 and I remember just getting in trouble with him! We were about 4 and were playing doctor, but knew we were going to get in trouble so we hid in his closet until his mom found us! Then another time we were walking to elementary school and he had a jar with his tonsills for show and tell and it dropped and broke so I stood there to guard it while he ran back home to get his mom! When you look at Slade's face you can see what a Happy person he was! Slade was a good friend to many! How fortunate we are to be the people to say that we were touched by such a kind, lovable, smart, caring person! Slade had such a BIG heart and he seemed to be able to share it with many in his short time! Life is short, and what a great example of how to embrace life that way Slade did!

I will always remember that Slade could quote the entire narrative of "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" verbatim.

The loss of Slade is truly a loss to the world.
