Where Are They Now? — Richard Garrick

I have truly enjoyed reading some of the updates posted by my fellow classmates of Provo High School. It brings back many memories of those years. Regretfully, due to other commitments, I will most likely not be making it to the reunion but I feel it is important to bring everyone up to speed as to where I am today.

I graduated in 1994 in Chemical Engineering. I had a great college experience, although non typical for Utah schools, well within the control limits of national universities. I married Amy Willis from Lindon Utah. I became an owner of a small company at the time named Precorp. We manufacture diamond cutting tools using high pressure/high temperature synthesis technology. Today I remain at Precorp as the President. We now have 150 employees and 4 plants across the country. I have spent the last few years traveling the world in support of the Boeing 787 program, a major user of our product.

There was a phase in my life, just after the death of my two brothers where my judgment was clouded and I took up the part time hobby of modleing. This hobby plastered my picture on product boxes, in Armani stores and fashion show runways. Regretfully, I even showed up in a few late night Cinemax movies that people will not let me forget. It was a good diversion from the pain I was feeling at the time, but in no way will shadow the accomplishments in my home and professional career.

Amy and I will be celebrating 14 years of marriage this Saturday. We have two children, Kenner who is 7 and Olivia who will turn 4 this Sunday. We live in Woodland Hills Utah. We enjoy our annual trips to Cancun and traveling in our RV. My wife and kids are the source of my joy. I currently spend my free time as a Volunteer Firefighter in my community and my wife is a First Responder.

Rich,
What a stud. I am holding you personally responsible for our fooball team not taking state. Where was that body when we need it the most. Our freshman year you barely weighed 100 lbs. I remember your mom insiting you drank your 10,000 calorie protien shake berfore we could go anywhere. Im positive you slipped it to your big black dog. You have done well. Premature death of loved ones is a challenge. And if it took being a supermodel to get through it Im proud of you. You did confirm my suspcions.I thought I saw you in a movie. Your screen name was Dirk Bigelow.LOL. Sorry you wont be at the reunion, but your post has made me smile. Love and Peace.

Richard,

I really enjoyed reading about your life. You do look great. And I am glad to hear that you are doing well now, after the lose of your 2 brothers. Everyone deals with pain in their own way and I am glad you are able to go on with a better life.

Your family is very beautiful. I would have loved to meet them. It is to bad that you will not be at the reunion. You were so fun to be around in high school. I remember going to your house once and making foil dinners for our Arches trip. It was always a lot of fun and full of adventure to go to Arches.

Take care,
